About two years ago a local newspaper presented an article on a new museum planned not far away. Indeed the linear distance from my place to that of the museum did not exceed 5 km. So I thought it might be an idea to offer my help in case they plan to present Old Norse texts. I offered it at no charge. The idea behind it was a maybe somehow naive vision of neighbourly help. They promised to forward my offer to their committee comprising many distinguished historians (but no scholar of Old Norse as I am) and that was the last thing I ever heard of them. Meanwhile I forgot about this until this very summer when I suddenly stood in front of the finished and newly opened museum. Of course I was curious, so I bought a ticket and walked through the exhibition. And what did I see? Would-be Old Norse texts. They had screwed it up totally. I struggled with myself. Should I tell them? Finally I sent them an e-mail expressing my disappointment about the erroneous Old Norse texts. Their reply is yet to come...

I am a scholar of Old Norse/Old Icelandic, recently confirmed by my doctoral degree achieved in Old Norse/Old Icelandic studies and by my many publications in this field, particularly on Norse mythology & religion, Old Icelandic literature and linguistic aspects of Old Icelandic. One of them, the Old Icelandic grammar in Italian language, is used as the standard grammar book for students learning Old Icelandic by several universities in Italy.
